Pin the Verse

Write out scriptures onto index cards. Write out the verse reference onto a wooden clothespin. Hang up your index cards using pocket charts (or whatever you have available, a bulletin board would work well). Clip the wooden clothespins to the correct verses. Wha-la!

Kids Bible Verse Game

AWANA Sparkies HangGlider book
Velcro matching game

This is a verse matching game. Write the verse's chapter reference on one card, and the verse on another. Color code and match chapter references to verses. Laminate the cards. Adhere Velcro or Command Hooks onto the back of each card. Also add the material to the board you're using (I used foam sheets for my board). Align the cards so that they are across from each other when being matched.
To play, Mix them up and have fun matching them!

IF Gathering 2016

Despite having to leave early, I really enjoyed this years women's gathering! I got a lot out of it. I'm going to share those things here.

1) YOU ARE ENOUGH
To God, we are enough. Jesus loves you. There's nothing more to say about it.

2) INVOLVE GOD IN YOUR PLANS, and He will surely show up to help out!
When we abide in God's word, and are obedient to His voice, He will clear a path for your journey. No matter what you're facing, or what season you're in! He will not bail out on you last minute.

3) LET YOUR KIDS KNOW THAT THEY ARE ENOUGH...for you!
Kids look up to their parents and just want to be accepted (just like we want to feel accepted by Our Heavenly Father).
I had a breakthrough with this concept.
I absoultely HAVE BEEN nagging too much at my 6-year-old son (my husband has brought this to my attention a few times, but I would dismiss him).
I simply expect too much from my son.  I am like an army general, and my authoritarian parenting style IS NOT the answer to behavioral problems.
I mean, my son is no saint, but I feel I could do some work on my end. Also, I'm renewing and updating our Routine Chart, but that's an entirely different post).
Bottom line...I need to have more PATIENCE during our 'episodes'.
I need to let him know that he is enough for me. The dishes can wait, the chores can wait...I CAN WAIT!!!
Im going to nurture my son's spirit, instead of trying to be always be in control of EVERYTHING.
I want my son to know we love him, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, that Jesus loves him more than anyone!!

Also, I've been savoring every single moment with Haston (my 14-month-old son). I'm taking it all in! He's so little, innocent, and full of wonder!
It WON'T be like this for long!
*(pass the tissues...I'm sobbing!)

4) GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY
Following Jesus is not necessarily a 'desk job'. It's about being in the line of duty. It's about being out in the field working, cultivating, and planting Godly seeds.
(As a farmer's wife, I can tell you that my husband does NOT come home clean after working in the corn and bean fields!).
We are to BE the hands and feet of Jesus.

5) Romans 3:23 "All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God."
We are ALL broken. The sooner we can accept that, the sooner the healing can begin.

Today's Tidbit

This thought came into my mind while working at church today.
Wow! Thanks for that word, Lord Jesus!

Today was a breakthrough!

What an awesome day! I really worked the PATIENCE thing by the complete grace of the Holy Spirit.
I had the privilege of helping clean up the church, and help to get things set up for a women's convention this weekend (so excited for the fellowship that will take place and the relationships it will ensue!
#IFgathering2016
Usually, I'm the type of volunteer worker that wants to hurry up and get a job done. Ya, know, get it over with and move on.
But today was different. I vacumned the sanctuary and fellowship hall with patience and attention to detail. I treated the job as if I was cleaning my own house. I did a thorough job, and didn't cut corners. While working, I had so much JOY in my heart. It was then that I realized I was cleaning God's house! It's not every day that someone gets that kind of treat! I enjoyed it with every ounce of my heart. Glory to God. Jesus saves!

Life Goals right here...

Wow, I am no saint. I want to start living a life that would inspire the writings of a verse like THIS!

I am not where I used to be, and I'm not where I need to be, but today I'm OK because I have Jesus. And I'm learning of my sins on a daily basis. You have to LEARN OF YOUR SIN, BEFORE YOU CAN TURN FROM YOUR SIN. God enlightens me every single day. He takes my mind to BRAND NEW HEIGHTS! He brings wonderful people into my life continually. I just cannot express the multitude of things MY GOD has done for me. HES BEEN THERE THE WHOLE TIME.
This has been one of the best days of my life. ~Landra

Learning to relax!

Ok, so I needed some way to harness my nervous energy today. I did most of my "keep-up-chores", put some toys next to my dining room table (for Haston, my 1 year old son), and I played with Legos, and interacted with my son a lot more! yes....it's true. Legos, and I got to play with my son in between building time. So, instead of worrying about the dust that has settled into the crevices of the crown molding, I sat back and did what I wanted to do. Check out my Lego Restaraunt! Branson (my 6 year old son) is gonna love it, and want to put his Lego men at every seat!

Can you tell I have a lot of nervous energy? Haha what do you think of my masterpiece?

This week is Equanimity

Verses to Memorize!

Ecclesiastes 7:9
Be not quick in your spirit to become angry,
for anger lodges in the
bosom of fools.

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be
made known to God.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap,
if we do not give up.

Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope,
be patient in tribulation,
be constant in prayer.

Ok I'm going to work on this word for the week!

For some reason, these graphs are intriguing to me. So, I'm going to post them below, along with the weekly word definition

DID YOU KNOW???
...the word PHLEGM isn't just the nasty stuff we cough up during cold season! It also means 'calmness of temperament' during difficult situations!
